2019 is a big year with a FIBA World Cup in China (August 31-September 15)
That the World Cup is being held in China, arguably the biggest basketball market on the Planet, is the epitome of global domination.
But basketball’s world domination started in Barcelona. Precisely on July 24th, 1992…the day the Dream Team’s plane landed in Barcelona, for the ’92 Olympics.
But Barcelona has “made its bones” also birthing and/or raising some of the most talented Europeans ever… Pau Gasol, Marc Gasol, Juan Carlos Navarro, Ricky Rubio, Rudy Fernández, Sergi Llull, and others international stars that made a splash in their careers in the city in aa grandiose fashion: Sarunas Jasikevicius, Dejan Bodiroga, Alexsandar Djordjevic, and many more.
